What is Medical Billing?
Medical billing is the processing of compiling & maintaining records of goods & services rendered at a health care facility, and filing insurance claims for reimbursement. Medical billing techs work in hospitals, doctors’ offices, clinics, surgery centers, long-term care facilities dental offices, consulting firms, government agencies and for insurance companies. While the codes are used by doctors and hospitals for reimbursement claims, they are also used to prepare statistical reports for administrators to planning, marketing and management purposes.
