Has anyone looked into the hiring of tutors to do the course work? I teach High School Social Studies and English in Vancouver and I know that if I give a take home assignment there is a good chance of the tutor's assignment comming back to me. This is especially true of ESL classes for which all major written work, essays for example, need to be written in class and left in class if there are a few work periods to complete the task. Even then I need to make sure that students haven't smuggled in things that they have written at home with the help of a tutor. With our system final exams are worth around 20% of the final mark. If students fail the final they can still pass the course if their average is high enough. Does anyone know of any research that looks into this particular issue?

I think the difficulty level of each online class depends on the subject of the online class, as well as the institution hosting the class itself. However, there seems to be some legitimate services out there like www.boostmygrades.com that supposedly ace students' classes for them. <a href="www.boostmygrades.com" rel="nofollow">BoostMyGrades</a>

“I could tell the answers were not their own,” Green was quoted in a BNET

well, most major grades such as exams are timed. if you can literally research the answer to every question in the span of 40 seconds or so per question, you obviously have some skill and atleast a moderate grasp of the subject matter at hand. honestly, if you knew nothing about a subject, and tried to research questions in such a limited span of time, you'd do very poorly on the exam in my opinion.

I had always wondered why this issue wasn't addressed earlier, with the advent of online courses in the first place. It seems like an almost logical thing to do when using the internet, since research is so easy to get done with simple web searches. In a way, I'm almost encouraged to applaud this kind of activity though, because it shows initiative and innovation on the part of the student. I know a lot of people wouldn't think that way, but in the work world, every advantage is needed and an employee has to be flexible and smart enough to find them.
